Santa's Helpers celebrates 35 years of collecting holiday toys for children in 2004. Collection points this year include Legacy Town Center.
Produced by WFAA-TV (Channel 8), Santa's Helpers this year will celebrate 35 years of collecting holiday toys for children throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth area. This is the twenty-ninth year as Santa's Helpers spokesman for Troy Dungan, Channel 8's chief weathercaster.
The 2003 Santa's Helpers Toy Drive Campaign was the largest ever -- a record 83,000 holiday toys were collected and provided to over 46,000 needy children throughout the four-county Dallas/Fort Worth area.
In Legacy, a record 2,000 toys were collected in our 3rd annual toy drive.
New, unwrapped toys will be collected at Legacy Town Center, on Thursday, December 9. Collections will be taken by the Christmas tree at the main plaza in front of the Marriott Legacy Town Center on Bishop Road, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Santa will be there to help Troy Dungan and other Channel 8 and Texas Cable News personalities collect your dontations which will benefit The Assistance Center of Collin County and the Plano Police Christmas Cops program.
