Exciting development projects are happening in and around the Legacy community.

Children's Medical Center Legacy: The Children’s Medical Center name and familiar red-balloon logo have become synonymous with the most outstanding pediatric care in North Texas. Children’s is in the midst of an ambitious plan to build a regional pediatric healthcare system in Legacy, drawing upon a 90-year history of service to millions of children and their families.  Children’s Medical Center Legacy, located on 69 acres at the southwest corner of Preston and Hedgcoxe, is scheduled to break ground in 2005. 

The Lakes project: You may have noticed work being done on the lakes located throughout Legacy. In fact, these lakes are the primary source of water for irrigation in Legacy. Silt has built up over the past 14 years since the lakes were built, and consequently, they are being completely restored. The lakes will be drained, excavated and refilled. Work is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2005 and will continue through the spring of 2005.

Legacy Heart Center:  This specialty practice of 13 cardiologists serving 30,000 patients is building a new 45,000 square foot office and laboratory on Preston  Road just south of Tennyson Parkway, with plans to open in 2005.  www.heartdocs.org

Legacy Village: Phase I of this apartment community, consisting of  255 units, adds to the present urban fabric of the Legacy Town Center. Phase II (223 units), is now under construction, with completion scheduled for April, 2005. Phase III, to consist of 326 units, will begin construction in February, 2005, with completion scheduled for May, 2006.  Amenities in Legacy Village include courtyard swimming pools and multiple patios with fountains. Southwest Corporate Federal Credit Union: SCFCU provides credit unions with ATM and debit card services, check processing, Internet banking and electronic bill payment and investment management solutions. Currently based in Dallas, their future headquarters in Legacy will accommodate approximately 200 employees on a 7.5-acre site located at the northwest corner of Parkwood Boulevard & Democracy Drive. www.swcorp.org

Town Center North:Construction on the Bishop Road expansion has begun with completion anticipated in Spring 2005. A beautiful iron fence with stone columns is being constructed around the perimeter of Baccus Cemetery which is  scheduled for completion by the end of November.  The Shops at Legacy will begin the next phase of retail development in 2005.
