Fall Festivities for your family's enjoyment.
Fall is a time for lots of holiday celebration– college football, pumpkin patches, beautiful outdoor colors and festivals galore. If you’re in the hunt for some great ideas to make the holidays a fun and festive time for your family, you’ve come to the right place.
Fall brings family together?
The living room becomes a sanctuary for most families during the holiday season. Whether it’s the excitement of your favorite college bowl game, festive parades or a family gathering to reminisce over those special moments with loved ones, the fall season brings it all together! But don’t stay inside the whole time. There are so many fun outdoor venues to enjoy and the one that kids seem to crave this time of year are the pumpkin patches. Many churches, charitable organizations and specialty companies that host these once a year events are located right here in the metroplex. Many of these wonderful pumpkin patches provide lots of fun activities such as petting farms, hayrides, hay stacks, roping pens, fishing ponds, all weather barns to host private parties, and of course the main event– the pumpkin patch itself! So make a day of fun for your family. We recommend doing a quick internet search on your favorite engine. Just key in “pumpkin patch-Texas” and don’t be surprised to find one located just minutes away.
Did you say holiday décor ideas?
Fall is a beautiful time of the year and it’s time to bring the brilliance of colors home. There are so many wonderful ways to accentuate the home for the holidays, so why don’t we start at the front door. Doors were made for the holidays and what better way to greet family and friends with a warm welcoming wreath. All of the natural fall colors can be captured with perishable fresh fruit and artificial varieties against an evergreen wreath. Or how about turning the front porch entry into a pumpkin trail with accents of fresh squash and melon gourds. Seasonal mums also bring a splash of color!
Bring even more character to your white picket fence by twining a vine. There are so many beautiful options in vine wreaths at a variety craft/hobby stores and outlets. Or maybe you’ve got the energy to make your own by adding a splash of wild berry branches an autumn splendor can add real magic to the season.
Hey, there’s no reason to keep a wreath outdoors. Why not bring a breath of fresh air to the interior home décor? With a myriad of dried fruits, nuts and fall leaves, you can fire up the hot glue gun and design to your hearts content. So fall into the spirit of fall with a beautiful fall wreath!
Parades, marching bands, floats…
Parades are especially fun during the fall season especially with the arrival of cooler weather. While the classics such as the Macy’s and Houston Thanksgiving Day Parades are always an attraction on the big screen, have you ever thought about seeing it live and up close? If you’re up for a little more adventure, this time of year is a wonderful opportunity to plan a vacation and experience those mammoth sized characters as they float down Broadway in New York City. There are a number of great packages available and websites to investigate all of the travel options. One that we recommend is www1.macys.com, where you’ll find great information and complete details to start planning your get-away today. It’s not too late, but the clock is ticking. This year’s parade starts at 9 am on November 24th. So whether you’re there in person or tuned in to NBC on Turkey Day, make it a fun festive holiday!
