Meet the neighbors
Welcome to Legacy.
2006 has been a very busy year already and we are excited to have so many new tenants and businesses move into the community. Rent-A-Center continues to make great progress on their new corporate headquarters which is located on a 15-acre site on Headquarters Drive. They are currently located in Lincoln Place in Legacy until the completion of the new facility scheduled for the first quarter in 2007. Rent-A-Center was founded in 1986 and has grown from 16 stores to more than 2,770 in the United States, Puerto Rico and Canada through acquisitions and new store openings. Their largest acquisition was in 1998 when they bought 1,409 stores from Thorn Americas. The Home Office in Legacy employs 400 people in 28 departments.
In 1995, the company, then known as Renters Choice, went public on the NASDAQ national market under the symbol RCII. They are the nations largest in the rent-to-own industry with more than 16,000 employees.
Rent-A-Center offers name-brand furniture, electronics, appliances and computers through flexible rental purchase agreements that generally let the customer obtain ownership of the merchandise at the conclusion of an agreed upon rental period. They provide same-day delivery, 90 days same as cash and an early purchase option. Rent-A-Center continues to be a very successful company and Legacy is proud to have them as a part of the community.

Legacy is also proud to welcome the new Campus at Legacy complex.
This development has taken over the 107-acre site that formerly was a part of the EDS campus. The development of a new identity and concept was designed by Koll Development as a plan to serve both mid-size and large companies. It’s the perfect solution for companies that need flexibility as they grow and expand their business operations. The Campus offers a generously landscaped setting with ample green space which can be left as-is or redeveloped into additional parking, more buildings such as a Conference or Fitness Center, new Office Building or as outdoor amenity space. Ambulatory Care Pavilion in Legacy serves specialty care needs of patients in our area.
Children’s has expanded its specialty outpatient services with the opening of the Children’s Medical Center Dallas Ambulatory Care Pavilion in Legacy.
The 8,000-square-foot facility, which serves patients in counties north of Dallas, is located at the corner of Preston and Hedgcoxe roads in Plano, at 7800 Preston Road, directly across the street from where the full-service Children’s Medical Center Legacy is being constructed.
“This is an answer to the requests by primary care physicians in the area as well as patients to offer specialty services closer to their home and closer to their physician offices,” said Chris Dougherty, vice president of Ambulatory Services for Children’s. “The center will offer more convenient access to the same exceptional expertise we offer at Children’s Dallas.” |
